  It can be a bit scary to rely on a preorder before you actually see the produce and the quality of the food.  We understand that.  It's hard to imagine that we could pick out better produce for you than you could for yourself from any store.  Some first time customers like to place an order and then come to our store to pick it up instead of having it delivered so they can look around a bit.  We enjoy meeting everyone and welcome you!  We are proud of our produce and our shop, and have found that when someone visits, that person becomes a "regular" after seeing how we care for our fresh organic fruits and vegetables.  Once you see that we have a better quality to begin with, that we keep each item at optimal temperature to maximize freshness, and that we move produce out to you as quickly as we receive it, you will understand and feel comfortable allowing us to choose the produce for you.  Then you can relax in the luxury of your delivery of the freshest and best selection of the most gorgeous organic produce and more!  If you want to stop by and check us out, please do so after 2pm during regularly scheduled pick up times.  If you think you may want to purchase some items while you visit, and most people do, we ask that you please log onto our shopping cart and place an order for what you think you might want because that is our only way of checking you out and you will save time using that system instead of going online at our shop to check out.  How can you be sure of the quality?  That’s how these people felt at first too:

  Dear Delicious Organics,

You already won my heart. When my delivery came, I could actually smell the fresh earth coming off my vegetables. Dinner was inspired. While the baby played with his new Melissa and Doug toys, I made roasted chicken with your beets, carrots, chard and two kinds of fingerling potatoes, plus the grape tomatoes all roasted together.

My husband was very happy. I think I actually saved money on this week's food bill because I could plan menus calmly at my computer rather than frantically in the store.

Plus, the quality of your food was incomparable. I have shopped co-ops and farmer's markets from Buffalo to Miami. Your products are the best.

Additionally, your friendly, punctual and accurate delivery of my items was a huge bonus. I have four young children and sometimes it is literally impossible to leave the house.

I think it's WONDERFUL that you offer this service.   I decided to try you out because as my pregnancy progresses, it is becoming more difficult to do normal activities.  Then after the baby is born, getting out will be difficult.  The idea of having fresh, organic food delivered to my home is truly appreciated.

It brings me back to remembering how food "use to taste"!  I am thrilled to have wholesome, organic food delivered to my door...and your prices are competitive.  With every bite, I can taste the freshness.  I am truly nurturing myself while nourishing myself and others.  For dinner tonight I had beets (including the greens) and salmon from Vital Choice.  I have been searching for sweet beets for over 25 years!  I knew I wasn't imagining!  The salmon was the best as well!

  I may never go to the grocery store again!  I get fresher food, it's delivered to my door, unpacked in my kitchen, and it's organic, and it's still less money than had I gone to the grocery store (and bought conventional items) (because of all the impulse buys and the planning I can do, not to mention the poor quality of some of the produce at the regular stores that I end up throwing into the garbage).

  When I discovered "Delicious Organics" I was at a place in my life where I decided to change my ways & organic was the change I was going to make. One Sunday I picked up the Palm Beach Post & there it was, the answer to my prayers, an organic store, on line & delivery to boot. I am the world's worst for shopping----I hate going to the grocery store.

I am also the world's biggest "doubting Thomas" so ordering food without seeing it was a leap for me, but I took a deep breath, went on line, checked everything out & in just a short time I was ordering, this was about 3 or 4 month's ago. My first order came, I was called to notify me they were on the way. That evening I got home my order was at my front door, neatly packed in coolers w/ice, still nice & fresh, I began to open everything & I was like a kid at Christmas, I couldn't wait to try all the things I ordered.

Much to my surprise all the items were as if I selected them myself. I was very pleased.

This started my ordering frenzy, I had to try everything now & I am. I have never been so happy w/food in my life, everything is fresh, crisp & tastes sooooooooooooooooo much better. I'll not forget I ordered celery & when I got it I pulled off a stalk & tried it, I never tasted celery so wonderful. All the foods are totally different tasting ( BETTER ).

Annie & Jack, you are my lifesaver & you are sooooooooo accommodating & friendly, I've only spoke to you on the phone, but I feel I know you as a friend.

If anyone has any doubt's about using this service, take it from the "BIGGEST DOUBTING THOMAS" around, take that leap, you won't regret it.

Arnold arrived around 12:30pm, very courteous and efficient.  Everything I ordered was perfect...Of course sampling while putting things away is a must.....the cherries were straight from heaven, the red radishes took me back to my own organic garden years ago, the apricot was perfectly ripe and sweet...I resisted breaking into the berries...you get the picture !

The food is super delicious. I also have to compliment on your deliver driver.  He has been very helpful and kind.  I tried today the Organic Harvest Porridge and it is so delicious.  You have my 2 yo's approval.  I could never have her eat regular oatmeal or any hot cereals.  The only hot cereal she liked was the oatmeal packages that are artificially flavored.  After learning about organics and healthy living, I had stopped giving her this for about 4 month now.  Well, today she saw me eating the porridge and asked for some.  I added some milk and honey to hers.  Well, she ate a whole bowl.

I couldn't wait to email you to tell you how pleased I was with everything. It was so wonderful to have my groceries waiting for me at my door. The veggies and fruits are fantastic. They're exceptionally vibrant, fresh, and in the case of the sugar snap peas (which I've been eating like candy), also quite robust! It also felt really good as a mom to read the labels and packaging -- no nitrites, no pesticides, no synthetic hormones. I've never been a big health nut, but that may change.  I was a bit skeptical, and now I can't wait to spread the word.

what a wonderful surprise to have you checking in! i'm sure i *shouldn't* be surprised, tho, after reading your testimonials, at your business excellence and personal attention. :-)

i was thoroughly pleased with my order that i received last friday! especially with the produce, it was everything i hoped for... fresh, organic, and delicious! my husband and i actually got in a little argument because he ate one of the containers of strawberries in one sitting... the first day!! (we made up quickly, i could hardly blame him!) i definitely could see the difference between your food and the 'pre-pawed-over' stuff in the store, too... the bread, for example, seemed like someone just packaged it and handed it to me. and i really liked the little 1 lb. packages of gr. beef! so much quicker to defrost two of those, than two lbs. frozen together that i usually get. and also, the frozen foods were FROZEN! and i live in coral springs! i live two minutes from my local whole foods, and things are usually 1/2 defrosted by the time they get purchased and brought home... and your groceries come from miami! amazing! and i think i even spent less last week than i usually do, which was an extra added bonus.

all in all, it was a wonderful first delivery and actually put me in a good mood all day, and i've told several people about you already. thanks so much for providing this valuable service at such an awesome price! i'll be back every week!

  I think you have one of the best organized and easy to use websites.  I think you do a great job.  It can't be easy handling so many different items and with the fragile nature of produce.

Ordering from you hasn't caught on with my friends yet, but they are noticing the quality.  They still think it's my cooking.  I brought acorn squash from you to a pot luck, and people were asking how I cooked it.  I told them it was the organic fresh quality of the squash not the cook.  It does seem very expensive at first, but we eat less and don't really like to eat out.  Most restaurants do not have quality produce.  I think we actually save and even if we don't, it is better for our health.  My husband is not interested in eating broccoli unless if is from you.

My three year old ate both pints of strawberries in one sitting on Saturday!  He claimed they were delicious and would not even let us share.  He is a picky eater so we indulge him when there is something he likes.  We also loved the frozen bagels - we made fresh hot bagels on Saturday and Sunday morning.  We made omelettes with yummy veggies both days.  It was really a treat not having to trek to Wild Oats or Whole Foods.  We will be ordering more this week!   I went by today (bright pink shirt) to pick up my order, not knowing that my Co-op order would be given to me (too). This is the first time I ordered the Co-op Box and I was really excited about it.  Your two helpers placed my groceries in the back seat of my car and I did not get a chance to check it.  I had a 40 min drive home and the whole way I could smell the sweetness of the fruits and vegetables from the back seat.  When I got home, I literally laughed out loud in excitement. (I was alone at home too.)  The vegetables and fruits were so delicious smelling and looking that my mouth was watering.  What a wonderful selection. Thank you so much.  I will now order from the Co-op regularly.  And thank you for those great bruised bananas you threw in.  My children will love the banana bread I will make from them.

All my fruit was eaten by myself and my office mates within 10 minutes of the delivery - and it was a big hit.  I made cabbage, and fresh mint tea last night, and it was incredible.  ... I will most certainly place another order soon and will get my friends and co-workers to sign up too.

Publix used to deliver. It was a magic moment when they slipped on their paper booties and rolled the coolers through my house. Neighbors would gather on the street when the Publix truck rolled up. I ordered exactly twice before they stopped. I was ashamed at how disappointed I was. They made my life so easy, I even thought I could handle another baby with their help - if it was a quiet girl who slept a lot.
 
Fast forward to two weeks ago. The fourth baby was here. He was a big bruiser of a baby who loved to nurse. Every hour. He did not sleep much. Calories were being depleted and not adequately consumed.  But Publix never did come back. We were not specializing in fresh. We were ordering sushi and Chinese. Often. My husband waxed nostalgic about the farm shares we used to pick up in West Hollywood from Redland Organics. It was a major hassle, and one didn't get to pick one's own produce, but those fresh, organic veggies inspired a lot of nice meals here in our very busy house. It was easy to talk him into trying deliciousorganics.com. He missed his bitter greens, which he ate to spite me because I told him men generally didn't like them as much as women. Besides, I make them very well. I fry them in olive oil, whether dandelion, kale or collard, till just tender with sour salt or lemon, kosher salt and garlic. I use garlic powder if I'm lazy or the baby's crying. So sue me.
 
My order was quite simple. I bought two kinds of fingerling potatoes (one was supposed to taste of butter!), collard greens, two kinds of beets, two kinds of carrots, English peas, Florida grape tomatoes, mangos, a parsnip, bagels, wheat bread, mahi-mahi, whitefish, salsa, avocado, bread, butter lettuce, yogurt for the baby (I thought, but we'll get to that later), dill and cilantro, feta cheese and a few other items, including a Melissa and Doug wooden block set for the two youngest children. I had a kosher chicken in the freezer.

Monday afternoon, the whole lot was gently deposited on my table. I'm a busy woman, so I scratched the plastic off the blocks and spilled them on the floor in front of the kids. They squealed in delight. Great!
 
I headed into the kitchen, grabbed a roasting pan, tossed the chicken in, peeled and added several beets and carrots and then, because I had a moment, lovingly nestled the grape tomato and unpeeled fingerlings right up under the chicken. The whole thing got sprinkled with sour salt, a little sugar, garlic powder (so I'm not perfect) and kosher salt. Into the oven it went. Total prep time: five minutes. I rinsed the collards and cooked them in my usual fashion and then sliced a few bagels in really thin slices. These went into the oven to crisp up for our own bagel chips. Delicious. Right before dinner, I would top them with feta and a few fresh grape tomatoes, then sprinkle a little vinegar on them. A couple hours later, the chicken came out of the oven. The crisps had crisped. The feta spoke of goats inspired by Pan's lascivious appetites. The children stood in admiring crowd around the table. (Okay, maybe not. But they did stop short at the marvelous veggie colors, which prompted my oldest son to suggest a rainbow dinner, where we would eat color-by-color.) The vegetables were fresh and beautiful. The fingerlings tasted of butter! And you have not lived till you've eaten an organic red carrot roasted in chicken juice. If I had the meyer lemon, I would have stuffed it inside the bird. Deliciousoranics was fresh out. That was okay. If I was a vegetarian, the vegetables would be equally good roasted in olive oil. That would be okay, too. Everyone had chicken, but kindly left scraps for my secret leftover plan. My husband said he felt like superman when he ate the collards. John Mayall played a groovy tune on the dvd player and peace was finally restored to my happy, humming home.
 
But that was only the beginning. The next night, we feasted on the fish. The whitefish was buttery smooth, a Eastern European classic. it would have been perfect prepared much like fresh herring used to be, wrapped with potatoes. But we just broiled it with the mahi-mahi, which came with its own marinade. Delicious. I roasted some more beets and potatoes and when they were tender, made a quick dill mayonnaise. My daughter helped. She was proud. She was allowed to help because I wasn't stressed out from shopping. I tossed the veggies with the mayo and some fresh peas just barely boiled. The peas were perfection, sweet and fresh as could be. No way you're getting peas like that at Publix. I quartered the some wheat bread and toasted it. I warmed dill in olive oil and tossed it on the bread. Again, the house hummed. Husband was happy. Chinese guys across Hollywood lamented.
 
Picture us during the day: Hungry mom, fussy babies. I'm not crazy about yogurt, but baby is just starting to think about real food. So I open the Yo' baby banana yogurt and note the thick texture. Perfect for sticking on the spoon. So I taste it. Wow! It is like summer's fresh fields on a spoon. Happy, happy cows made this milk. I can hear Heidi in the background. I am hooked and I mean it. The baby is looking at me longingly and I remember for whom the yougurt was bought. I place the spoon in his mouth and his eyes widen. He grabs the spoon and sticks it in his mouth. He feeds himself for the very first time! Really.
 
The magic doesn't stop. More dill mayo on bagel chips with some salsa jazzed up with fresh cilantro and super tasty avocado for a solo dinner last night. Tonite, I'm planning on mixing leftover chicken with some mango and the dill mayo and wrapping it in butter lettuce leaves.
I tasted the mango. It has no astingency whatsoever. It is a manageable size - it sits sweetly in the palm of my hand.
 
When the chicken is stripped, I'll boil the bones with the parsnip, dill and the few carrots I have left. It will make a fine base for a Friday night soup. In the midst of my happy snacking, I've been on the deliciousorganics website planning next week's meals. What a delight to be able to sit and plan my meals instead of frantically running through the store, grabbing things off the shelf while my children wail. O happy children. O happy husband. O happy cows and chickens -  how you make for happy people. Except for a few Chinese guys over at Hunan Wok.

  Whoa, Annie!  The raw pizza is even more delicious than ever...and I just sneaked a bite of each of the pies (to eat with black and green tea chai)...YUMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!  Those (raw) pecan pies are truly out of this world...so flavorful and alive!!  I'd LOVE to make them for Greek grandmas who will not beliEVE they are all raw!!  And I wish my bubba was still here (she died last year at 96)...she'd go absolutely wild for these raw pies!!  Anyway, I had to write to thank you...I'm blown away by how incredible these (raw pecan and raw coconut cream pies) are.

Sunday night she calls me in complete bubbles!! "You have no idea how wonderful this place is!!! You won't believe what I found! You are going to LOVE this place! The people there are so friendly and helpful and they really CARE about what they have to offer!" She went on to tell me that a cashier marked down a bag of spinach my mom's friend was buying, unsolicited by the customer, because it wasn't up to your quality standards. She was stuck on you already, but the quality assurance sold her for life.

Your staff really impressed both my mom and her friend. Almost as much as the quality of your product. At Wheatsfield, we have high standards for the produce and product we sell, as well as good customer service. It is great to find out that there are others across the country that feel as strongly.  The organic movement will only maintain its momentum if we continue to show others that not only is it better for you, your local economy, and the Earth, but it tastes and looks so much better!

I ate a honey crisp apple driving home - rolling my eyes in delight the whole way!!! They might just be the best apple in the world - they are crisp and juicy, sweet with a touch of tart. They are so full of goodness they are made for the motto "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." I just don't know how I'm going to eat only one a day ...!!
 
All my food is now unpacked and it looks lovely and fresh.
 
Dinner was a yummy salade nicoise with buttercream potatoes, grape tomatoes, lettuce, eggs and olive oil from my delivery - and tuna/olives from my pantry.
